Victory comes with a fight!

Galatians 6:9  “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Nowhere in the Bible did any victory ever come without a fight. David fought, Deborah fought, Moses fought, Sarah & Abraham fought, Jesus fought, and even His disciples fought. What makes us think we are exempt? While we are called to fight, the Truth is, we have already won. It is when you stop fighting that you lose because you have chosen to not operate in faith, which can only be evident in your endurance. Keep fighting, the Bible guarantees “every child of God defeats this evil world” (1 John 5:4). The Lord already told us how it ends, so it’s not finished until it looks like His promises.

Ephesians 6:10-13 “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”

The key to our fight as Christians is using our spiritual weapons rather than physical ones. Whatever the battle it, remember it is not a person or thing, it’s a spirit. And God has given us His armor to use against the enemy. Rather than arguing, debating, cussing, emotionally reacting, trying to lay hands, or any other fleshly response, God has graced us with prayer, fasting, His Word, and praise! That’s how we fight our battles.

And when it seems like it won’t happen, remind yourself of what the Word says.

Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.”

As much as you may want to give up and throw in the towel, the Lord is telling me to tell you: FIGHT!

I am reminded of many battles in the Old Testament and how before the Israelites would go to battle, the Lord would tell them beforehand: “I have given you victory”. See Judges 4, Joshua 10, Deuteronomy 20:1-4, and Exodus 15:2. He was letting them know, your victory is already finished, I just need you to go out there and claim it. I know it seems like the enemy is bigger than you, may have more soldiers than you, may seem more powerful than you, but the Lord says “I have given you victory!”.

There’s only 1 scripture left to share:

Joshua 1:9 “‘This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.’”
