Miracle on 2490
At the end of an AZ trip, I heard something about “moving soon”. And because it was so sudden, I thought I heard wrong and that maybe it wasn’t the Lord. So, I asked for a sign, and said if I am supposed to move, show me a “moving truck today”, lol. And I didn’t see one, so I went on about my day and life. Then randomly, while I was at my mom’s house I saw a video popped up on YouTube from the church I had just came back from visiting. So I watched, and I kid you not, the Pastor said, “I am shaking up the nest so you can move out so you can soar higher.” There were other things that were said, but this alone was confirmation He indeed was speaking to me. I cried because all I knew was living with my mom, and that was the one part of my life I hadn’t really trusted Him with. The thought of moving out on my own and having no one to lean on (except God) scared me. But He had just proven Himself as my Shepherd and because I had seen Him guide me along the right path there, I trusted if He was speaking to me to move, He would guide me and cover me. That was on July 22, 2024. That same week I spoke to my mom and my best friends at church, who happened to be also looking to move at the same time. They had looked for places but still hadn’t found the right one, so I asked if they would be willing to have another roomie, and they said YES! God provided once again because I knew living alone was not financially a good decision. So then we start making a list of what we want and what we can afford. Our original list contained around 5 houses, but there was one detail that we needed in order to be able to move, and that was the timeline. We wanted freedom to move within a year if need be. And based on that detail alone, we went from 5 potential homes, to 1. So one Saturday Night before corporate prayer, we decided to tour this home, since it’s only 3 minutes away from church. When we arrive, it looks nice, we are all excited, but there’s one problem. We can’t get in. It was available for a self tour but we couldn’t get in. The code given was incorrect and the company that handles the tours were usually not supposed to be open on Saturdays this late. However, when we call, someone answers. And this kind man gave us code after code which would not open the door. So me and one of my best friends start praying, while the other bestie is on the phone trying to get the code to open the door. I kid you not, we were on the front porch praying in tongues declaring that we WILL see this house. I don’t even remember how many tries it took, but finally, he gave us another code and “click”, it unlocked! When I tell you we shouted “Hallelujah!” so loud! We go inside and it’s literally the perfect home for what we need. There was an extra space we didn’t see in the pictures, and we easily decided who would sleep where with no arguments or questions. It was such an ease to this! So we decided to move forward with the house and start the application process without realizing we were already approved when we toured it! ADDITIONALLY, while there were three of us moving in, they approved us based on one of our credentials and said nothing further was needed. So while I was at work, (I worked at Publix at the time in the evenings), my besties called the place to go over the rental agreement and ask certain questions about the property. It didn’t have a refrigerator, and we were trying to ensure that if we needed to move early, there would be no penalty and that those details would be included in the agreement. As soon as I got off work, I called them and they said the company inquired about if a fridge was in the property before they even asked and ordered one to be delivered ASAP! We were able to have written proof of the waived move out penalty. AND, on top of all that, there was $1000 off the first month’s rent. We signed our agreement and were approved for a move-in date of August 9, 2025. So in less than three weeks, the Lord spoke and provided and allowed me to sit in the very promise I didn’t even think was possible at the time.
The miracles do not stop there. Remember that fridge that was ordered, what a blessing! It was such a big blessing that it couldn’t fit through the door. August 9 was a Friday, and I had to work that day at Publix. So in early afternoon is when the fridge was scheduled to be delivered. My besties were at work so I stayed to make sure the fridge was delivered. The time is getting closer and closer to when I need to leave for Publix and I start freaking out just a bit. If you know me, you know I do not like being late. So I pray to the Lord for this man to get here and deliver this fridge ASAP. He arrives with just enough time to spare. He gets out of the truck. I see the huge white double door fridge, a whole lot of stairs to walk up to get to our door, and he doesn’t have any help, he’s by himself. So the first couple of tries, the man tries to bring this fridge up the stairs by himself. Bless his heart, he was trying so hard! And it was August in Georgia, so it was hot! I offered to help and he finally gave in and so he took the top and I took the bottom, and step by step, we got it up the stairs. There were definitely some breaks in between some steps and rolling in the house, but the point is, we got it in the house! I was speaking scripture throughout the whole process because there was no other option, lol. This fridge had to get in this house, and quick! I ended up making it work too, so that was a miracle as well, my home was now on the west side of town while the Publix I worked at was on the east side.
Oh yeah, furniture! I knew we needed, if nothing else, at least a couch and dining table. So the next day, Saturday August 10, I am preparing to come to the house to clean with everyone and move some stuff in, and on the way, I decide to just check and see what thrift stores have. I leave my mom’s neighborhood, and before I even get to the light, there’s a yard sale with a wood dining room table with 2 chairs and 2 benches for $100. SOLD! For $20 more, they delivered to our house which was so kind! Then that same day, as the lady was delivering the table I just bought, I told her to follow me as I went to another thrift store real quick. I was thrifting some days prior and saw this nice couch for less than $100. It was comfy and a pretty neutral color. We had to clean it up a bit, but who said all miracles came without work. That day, all the furniture was 25% off so it was not more than 70ish bucks! SOLD! I bought it and that Monday, when the men from church came to help, they were able to deliver it to the house!
One of the prayer points on our list for this house was men of God who would help us move for free. And the Lord did that too! While I was at work, the men helped me and my roomies move stuff. I originally planned to wait until Tuesday to move but was so excited I packed the rest of my stuff and drove to the new house. They were all still there talking about testimonies and eating and fellowshipping and it was truly a blessing. They didn’t even want anything in return.
Then we had another miracle, we needed a washer and dryer. So my roomie looked on FB marketplace, and behold, it was a washer dryer set for only $100. They delivered it to the house and I think they may have helped set it up. They were Christians as well, which is always a plus!
I remember I needed to buy a bed frame, and I bought one from the same thrift store I bought the couch. It didn’t fit into the first car my mom let me use. So I tried the second one. The man at the store thought I was crazy, yet I was so determined to not have to rent a truck. The store was almost closing so thankfully my mom’s house was only 5ish min away. I came back super fast after measuring to make sure I will have space and after moving and shifting and lots of sweat, we got it in the car! The frame was really close to my face while driving, but hey, I only live 5 min away. I was praying no cops were waiting on the route home, and the Lord answered that prayer too! Although I later found out the bed frame was donated because of damage, I was able to use part of it to sustain the new frame I bought. Because the slats on the new frame were so far apart, I would sink in the bed while sleeping and I would wake up and my back would not be happy. After a while, I remember I had the used frame and the base did have less space between each slat. So I stacked the old on the new, and BOOM.. another answered prayer for my back and sleep!
So we all moved in very quickly and were just in awe for a long time at what the Lord had done. The point is, the Lord does miracles, and He works quickly. He provides, and He answers prayers. I remember asking God for rent to not be more than $800 per month. And He answered that prayer too!
