Do you feel crazy?

I came today to remind us all that faith takes faith. I know right, sounds pretty simple?! But what about when you have been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting on what God promised and you feel like maybe it won’t happen? Our Father allows impossible situations to arise so that He can display His might and power. Impossible circumstances are the perfect set-up for the Lord to show out!

I have learned a little something while I wait, how you wait matters. When all the seed has been sewn, and all the prayers have been prayed, and you’ve fasted for what you are believing for, and you are still waiting, can you remain in a posture of reverence, gratitude, and praise?

I am reminded of Abraham, you should read His story again by the way. There is a reason he is called the father of our faith. He wasn’t the first man to believe in God, God just chose to make a covenant with Him and put Him in impossible situations where His might and glory might be displayed. And because of his faith, God counted Abraham as righteous (Romans 4:21-22). Think back to when the Lord called Abraham to leave his father’s home and go to a land He would show Him (Genesis 12). The word didn’t include detailed instructions, the Bible says “He went without knowing where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8) Think back to when God told Abraham to sacrifice his son as a burnt offering. By faith, he chose to set up everything for the sacrifice and take his son with him. Yet when Isaac asked Abraham “where is the sheep”, Abraham said by faith as he was walking up to the altar, “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son” (Genesis 22:7-8).

Quite literally, Abraham was hanging on to the word of God. Even though what God said wasn’t what he saw, he chose to still see and believe what God said.

Hebrews 11:1 “ Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”

I came to let you know, YOU’RE NOT CRAZY! I know you have prayed and knocked on the door countless times, I know you have sewn seed that humanly speaking you couldn’t afford to sew, I know you have fasted wondering if any fruit is coming, I know you have arranged the nursery and bought the clothes for that baby that isn’t even conceived yet, I know you are preparing to harvest seeds that are not even sprouting. AND THAT’S GOOD! If you feel crazy, that means you’ve got faith!

Hebrews 11:6 “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.

Whatever you are believing God for, stay CRAZY &WILD in your faith. God told Elijah he would send rain. Without a cloud in the sky and being in a drought for 3 years, Elijah had faith to tell Ahab rain was coming and prayed until it came (1 Kings 18). Even when his servant’s report was “I didn’t see anything” 6 times straight, Elijah stood strong in his faith remaining confident that God would do it. Your faith is your evidence. Hold onto your evidence, it is because of your faith that it will happen! (See Matthew 9:29)
