The Shadow that Never Leaves

Lately, I revisited the Book of John in the Bible, and something caught my attention. In Chapter 9, verse 12, Lazarus’ name is followed by a comma and his testimony of what God had brought him from. This reminded me of how many times I read of Matthew, the tax collector and Mary, the woman whom Jesus casted out seven demons. I used to read this and wonder, Jesus: why do you have to keep reminding us of who they used to be before Christ, they are new now? But then it hit me, everywhere you go, your testimony should follow. We are nothing without Jesus and now that we have Him, may we never forget where He brought us from. What saving only His blood does! What freedom only His Spirit brings! It is the blood of the lamb AND the word of our testimony that defeats the accuser and father of lies.

Revelation 12:11 “And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.”
