The Man at the Well

John 4:1-30

The Lord was on His way and stopped at a well and met a woman who was in need. The woman was digging for what she thought she needed. She thought she needed regular water, but her soul was crying out for Living Water. Jesus then sets her up to receive the message that would change her life. And at her lowest point, God meets her at the well and gives her what she’s been looking for in all the wrong places.

Your “well” may not be fornication, living and sleeping with someone that’s not your husband, but maybe it’s addiction to alcohol or drugs, maybe it’s the praise of man, maybe is jealousy and comparison. Wherever you are, Jesus is at that well wanting you to exchange regular water for Living Water. That regular water ain’t quenching the thirst, that’s why you have to keep coming back. But only Jesus offers the Living Water, the Holy Spirit, who is enough to make us never thirst for those things again. He gives joy, peace, power, and rest out of the abundance of His love. He’s waiting for you, even at your well.
